Become a Paid Book Reader

Welcome to our Paid Reader Program! Here, you can earn a little bit of money by reading and then writing insightful editorial reviews for the books listed on our platform. However, to qualify for the payment, you need to follow the rules below:

  1. 1It must be clear that you read the book.
  2. 2The review must be at least 200 words long.
  3. 3Reviews should not have a negative sentiment. Be professional.
  4. 4Reviews should not have any spelling errors.
  5. 5Reviews should not have grammar errors.
  6. 6Reviews should have a high English readability score.
  7. 7Reviews must be original and not plagiarized.
  8. 8Our review team reserves the right to set a minimum rating for any book we review.
  9. 9You must allow at least 3 days between reviews submitted.
  10. 10You cannot get paid to read a book more than once.
  11. 11At least 3 days must lapse from when you get a book to when you turn in a review. No exceptions.
  12. 12It must provide helpful feedback for the author.
  13. 13The review must be unique and original.
  14. 14If there is a quiz created for the book, you must pass the quiz.
  15. 15You cannot have more than 3 incomplete reviews in your queue.
  16. 16The author can end the review reading period at any time and if they do the editorial review will not be paid. We recommend being quick with turning in your review. Authors are notified when they end the review that they could be causing this problem. That is the best we can do to avoid this for reviewers.
  17. 17Under no circumstances can you take longer than 45 days to complete a review.
  18. 18You must post about the book on X, FaceBook, Instagram, GoodReads, or a book review site.
  19. 19All rights to the review transfer to the author and eBookFairs upon submission.
  20. 20The reviewer receives a license to use the reviews in perpetuity.
  21. 21Under no circumstances will eBookFairs pay for more reviews than an author paid us to perform.

Please make sure that you have at least one social media link on your user profile (Twitter, FaceBook, Goodreads, etc). It is really important that these profiles are high quality and active. There should be several posts and need to be authentic for authors to have confidence in using our editorial reviews.

Paid readers are independent contractors. You are responsible for any and all taxes due based upon this work.

Please note that your first 2 reads and editorial reviews after applying and being officially accepted, regardless of any past reviews made, will be unpaid and some in addition, some books in our system are non-paying. Pay close attention to this detail. If a book is under 100 pages, it is automatically ineligible for paid reviews.

We will provide you with a listing at the bottom of your profile page that will detail the status of every editorial review you have submitted for payment. If you don't see a submitted review listed there, then you can assume we did not get it. This is your responsibility to check.

We will use AI and other processes to evaluate the quality of each editorial book review submitted. Our decision, while reasonable, is final and not open for debate. If you're uncomfortable with this, please refrain from applying to be a paid reader. The decision to pay or not pay for an editorial review is solely up to us.

Remember, we must be convinced that you actually read the book. Our judgment on this is subjective and not open for discussion. Editorial reviews for books under 100 pages are always free, while those for books over 100 pages are paid at a rate of $5 unless we specify a different amount or that the book is unpaid on the review page. So assume the payment is $5 unless otherwise informed for any qualifying book.

We strictly prohibit any of our readers from violating any other website's terms of use or doing anything that could be perceived as being against any government rule or regulations. No deceptive practices will be tolerated in any form. If we find out that the reviewer is in violation of any laws or terms of service of another site, that is grounds for an immediate termination as a contractor.

We strictly prohibit and strongly discourage any readers from cheating our review system. If you abuse the review system in any way, eBookFairs retains the right to suspend any and all payments until the abuse can be stopped. This is not negotiable and is necessary to preserve the viability of the platform.

As a paid reader, we do require you to submit at least one editorial book review per month on our site or we may remove you from the paid reader program. We understand that everyone gets busy but we only have so many open review positions and we need to make sure you remain active.

We have a limited number of paid reader positions available and will review all candidates as quickly as we can. If you are not accepted, we encourage you to wait a month and then apply again. We are an equal opportunity advocate and will choose reviewers based on merit and the quality of reviews. For that reason, the more reviews you do in our system before applying the better so we can get a feel for your skills.

The rules for what we will and will not accept for editorial book reviews are constantly changing. The rules applied to each book review you submit will be in accordance with whatever the current rules are that are listed on this page at the time you submit your review.

Because we are looking for quality over quantity and this program is free for authors, we are limiting the number of paid reviews per reader to 5 in a month (calendar month). You are welcome to read more of our books than that but we can only pay you for 5 per month. We think a really good read and review of a novel should take a week and we set this maximum with that in mind.

We reserve the right and will suspend your account for violating any of our rules and/or for being reported by one or more authors. Please follow our guidelines and please read the books because the authors will know if you do not and they will report you.

Many applicants get rejected for not providing a full profile. Please be sure to at least have your name and one social media account populated. We also request that you create a post about eBookFairs and post it on at least one of your social accounts so we can verify you control them.

BY APPLYING TO THIS PROGRAM YOU ACKNOWLEDGE THAT YOU ARE PRHOIBITED FROM UPLOADING ANY PORTION OF THESE BOOKS TO AN AI MODEL LIKE CHATGPT, BARD, OR ANY SIMILAR ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE. IF THIS IS DEEMED TO BE HAPPENING YOU WILL BE IMMEDIATELY SUSPENDED AND WE RESERVE THE RIGHT TO SEEK MONEY DAMAGES OF NOTHING LESS THAN FEES PAID TO YOU FOR THIS SERVICE.

ALL PAYMENTS ARE MADE VIA PAYPAL AS A BUSINESS TRANSACTION SO ANY ASSOCIATED PAYPAL FEES WILL BE PAID BY YOU, NO OTHER PAYMENT METHODS WILL BE OFFERED. IF YOU CHANGE YOUR PAYPAL EMAIL ADDRESS YOU RESET YOUR TRIAL STATUS AND MUST PERFORM TWO MORE TRIAL REVIEWS. IF PAYPAL REJECTS YOUR PAYMENT FOR ANY REASON AFTER THREE ATTEMPTS THEN WE MUST REJECT YOUR REVIEW WITH NO EXCEPTIONS AND NO RECOURSE. YOU ARE AGREEING TO OUR PAYMENT POLICIES BY PARTICIPATING IN OUR REVIEW PROGRAM.

You also must post a positive message about eBookFairs so we know that you are in control of the provided social media account. We need this to make sure that our reviewers are authentic and hopefully will use their social media accounts to post about the books our authors have written (if they enjoy them).
