If you have been following our AI Wars series of articles it's all about pitting two leaders in the space against each other (ChatGPT v Bard). What we are wanting to see is which of these artificial intelligence models can really analyze content that we love whether it is classic poetry, classic rock songs, or in this round, rap. We decided to put Bard and ChatGPT to the test with this fan favorite rap from Eminem.
What message should I take from the following words?
“LookIf you had one shot, or one opportunity To seize everything you ever wanted One moment Would you capture it or just let it slip? Yo His palms are sweaty, knees weak, arms are heavy There's vomit on his sweater already, mom's spaghetti He's nervous, but on the surface he looks calm and ready to drop bombs But he keeps on forgetting what he wrote down, the whole crowd goes so loud He opens his mouth, but the words won't come out He's choking how, everybody's joking now The clock's run out, time's up, over, blow! Snap back to reality Oh, there goes gravity Oh, there goes Rabbit, he choked He's so mad, but he won't give up that easy, no He won't have it, he knows his whole back's to these ropes It don't matter, he's dope He knows that but he's broke He's so stagnant, he knows when he goes back to his mobile home, that's when it's Back to the lab again, yo This whole rhapsody He better go capture this moment and hope it don't pass him You better lose yourself in the music, the moment You own it, you better never let it go You only get one shot, do not miss your chance to blow This opportunity comes once in a lifetime”
ChatGPT Tells us The Following
These lyrics are from Eminem's song "Lose Yourself" from the soundtrack of the movie "8 Mile". The message conveyed through this song is about seizing opportunities and not giving into fear or hesitation.
The protagonist described in the song, much like Eminem himself in his early career, is faced with a life-changing opportunity and he is incredibly nervous. His nerves are getting the better of him and he's struggling to perform (as the lyrics suggest, he forgets his lines, chokes on his words, and the crowd is against him). However, he's reminded to "snap back to reality" and face the situation head on.
The lines "You better lose yourself in the music, the moment, You own it, you better never let it go, You only get one shot, do not miss your chance to blow, This opportunity comes once in a lifetime" encourage the listener to take advantage of opportunities when they come because they may not come again. It's about taking risks, putting your all into what you do, and not being afraid to pursue your dreams despite the odds that may be stacked against you.
So, in a nutshell, the core message is about embracing the moment, overcoming fear, and taking advantage of once-in-a-lifetime opportunities to bring about change in your life.
Bard Provides the Following
The message I take from these words is that we should never take opportunities for granted. We should seize the moment and never let it pass us by. Life is short and we never know when our time will be up, so we should make the most of every opportunity that comes our way.
The song "Lose Yourself" by Eminem is about a young rapper who has one chance to make it big. He is nervous and scared, but he knows that he has to give it his all. He loses himself in the music and in the moment, and he delivers a performance that blows the crowd away.
The song is a reminder that we should never give up on our dreams. We should always strive to be the best that we can be, and we should never be afraid to take risks. If we do, we might just achieve our goals and live a life that we are truly proud of.
Here are some specific things you can do to take the message of the song to heart:
Remember, life is short. Make the most of every opportunity that comes your way.
The Decision
This is another difficult call to make. Both ChatGPT and Bard did a great job of pulling out the important message of these words. Given the fact that Bard is giving us an action plan though really takes that response to the next level from our perspective. That's new and interesting. It may also bring up questions around this type of advice coming form AI. Is that a good thing? What other types of advice is it going to give us? It it gives positive advice like this will it also give us negative advice? Who or what determines the difference? This is very intriguing. We would love to hear your thoughts on this one.
Either way, we think the message of "Lose Yourself" is one that resonates well with all industries including book promotion services and publishing as a whole. We all have an opportunity right now to step up and help determine positive ways to leverage AI. This is true not only just for our industry but for society as a whole. We would encourage you to not let this moment pass you by. Stand up, become informed, and share your opinions around AI. It's not going away so don't sleep on it any longer (if you are).
