Vows For the Bratva Bride: A Dark Bratva Mafia Second-Chance Romance (Bratva Vows)

I started this book 2 days back and did not sleep until I finished this. It has 500+ pages but still I binge read this one. 'Vows for the Bratva Bride' is fast paced, intense & dramatic dark mafia romance with a second chance storyline. If you decide to read this you will also be surprised (just like me) when the prologue alone sets the tone fast. This is kinda book in which you will notice that you are in the story before you have had time to decide if you want to be. The opening chapters are strong enough to keep me hooked. What makes this book better than most in the genre is that main characters (Kira) is not passive. The pacing is good. But it drags a bit in the middle section. Sometimes I even felt that some chapters repeat the same push and pull without moving things forward. The book has explicit material, that too frequent and intense. I just wanted to clear it before you commit to choose this book. I liked this and I think this is good book for anyone who likes a romance with actual danger, betrayal, revenge and complex plot in it.

“Vows of the Bratva Bride” by Evie Ward and Emma Harris had me hooked at the beginning, but left me kinda disappointed by the end. Kira and Maksim, who belong to opposing Moscow mafia families, create the ideal foundation for an illegal love affair. The first chapters create a strong start because they show high tension between characters who share secret meetings in a penthouse, which made me read the book quickly, like I wanted to eat candy before my supper. The mafia setting fails to assume its rightful role as the central element of the story. The story treats it as an ornamental element instead of a central element that drives the plot forward. I waited for the story to show me streetwise political maneuvers with dangerous double crossings, which make Bratva love stories irresistible. The story presented itself as a second-chance love story, which included mafia characters. The dining experience became disappointing when the chef created a hot chili dish that lacked essential spices. The story suffered from an inconsistent rhythm throughout the entire plot. The story extended some conflicts for too long, which felt like dealing with a visitor who lost track of their exit time, while viewers experienced major emotional sections, which passed so quickly that they left almost no impact. The conclusion developed through many events, yet it created an overly simple conclusion. I wanted to see explosive displays, but I received a candle that extinguished itself too rapidly. The book maintains its decent quality. The characters create an electric dynamic, while the writing develops smoothly, and the heated scenes perform their intended purpose. The film fails to provide the streetwise danger and powerful emotional moments that the genre guarantees. I would give this book 3 out of 5 stars. The book suits readers who like second-chance mafia romance stories and want steamy scenes without complicated story elements. This story will not satisfy readers who want an authentic mafia experience because it resembles a teaser instead of the main attraction.
