From our reviewers
True Hearts by Bonne Zalzos is a fantasy book about three girls who were best friends. They met up for Halloween at the park, not knowing this was where their lives would take an unexpected turn. Something weird happens; everything freezes in time apart from them, and then they see three monsters coming to attack them. The girls get so scared because there were rumors in town about three boys that had disappeared and had been turned into monsters and were roaming in their town. Just before everything could go wrong, Kith notices that someone was watching them, the Keeper. He saves them and teleports them to his house, and this is when Ara, Mia, and Kith start their new journey as True Hearts who were destined to save the town from the wrath of darkness. As they slowly discover that they have superpowers. Ara can become invisible, Mia can freeze time, and Kith has psychic abilities. With the help of the Keeper, they embark on this new journey. This is a fantasy story about three best friends. I love how humor is used; it makes the story so interesting. There's so much sarcasm, and I love it. It gives a chill vibe to red books. I would recommend this book to people who love supernatural tales and teenagers; I think teenagers especially would absolutely love this book and get lost in this amazing story. I love this book; I went through it so fast, but at the same time, I did not want it to end. For that I would definitely recommend this book. My favorite characters were the three girls, Ara, Kith, and Mia.
