If you're into science fiction with a futuristic vibe, then this book is for you. This book, Message At The Deep by V. A. Jeffrey, is set in the year 2384 and follows a private investigator named Jonas Johnson. The story starts with him secretly investigating his wife for cheating. But somehow, there is a murder case, and further investigations lead him to discover a new lethal drug, an ancient conspiracy, and some weird business takeover. One of the first things that caught my attention was "DUST" It went from a simple drug that expanded the mind to a drug that could mutate people into monsters before killing them. I also liked Cassie's character and her resolve to leave society despite the major crisis with her family. I specifically liked the world-building and how realistic it was; I could literally see myself in the year 2384. However, I also noticed that the book contained several grammatical errors, which might be a problem for some people, as it distracted me a bit from the reading flow. Generally, I would say that the book is well written, unique in its plot, and certainly a perfect read for science fiction lovers. I would rate it a solid 4 out of 5 stars.
