Law enforcement officials, government organizations, and private detectives collaborate to find Darby. However, despite their best efforts, they are unable to locate her. This is when Nina decides to intervene to save her daughter's life. With her daughter's life at stake, this is a journey she must take alone. This mother's love proves to be an unstoppable force, even in the face of danger. This novel serves as a poignant reminder of the reality of human trafficking across the world. Everyone should read this book at one point in their lives. It does an excellent job of shedding light on the issue of human trafficking--which is a grim issue that pervades most societies, worldwide. Darby, age 18, and her college roommate receive an invitation to an exclusive club. Against her will, Darby descends into the realm of sex slavery and human trafficking after being drugged in the club. Heightened levels of fear and despair overcome her mother, Nina, when no one is able to locate Darby. Nina starts a diligent search for her daughter using social media and law enforcement officials. Even with the FBI becoming involved, no one appears to be able to bring Darby home. Nina's only option is to save Darby and bring her home herself. Can she do it? Story of a Stolen Girl is a thrilling read, with a compelling storyline and relatable characters. From the first few pages, I was captivated. Spencer's writing style is very descriptive and realistic--I simply could not put this novel down. The author leads you through a dark aspect of humanity--one that we must become more educated about. The character development is incredible. Even if Nina did not succeed in rescuing Darby, or Darby was unable to free herself from her captives, I would still admire the strength and courage of these two resilient women. Nina was dead-set on bringing her baby girl home. Her audacity is noteworthy!! Her efforts were not in vain. After powering through the worst moments of her life, she demonstrates that it is possible for people, and societies, to fight back against the ills of human trafficking.

Concurrently, it is also a celebration of man's resilience-- as well as a timely reminder that our unshakable dedication to altruism, integrity and justice is essential in the battle against human exploitation on the whole. The book has enlighten the dual face of society and politics. The book shows us how far a mother can go to save her child, no one can do what a mother can do for their child. Nina Richards is a perfect example of mother. When police, FBI is unable to do anything, she took the responsibility to save her daughter. She did every possible thing to save her daughter, Darby Richards. I have experienced every emotion while reading it such as rage, sadness, love towards mother and daughter duo. I have cried many times while reading it, the story of Amira ripped me, the story of Lin Su have broken my heart. The book perfectly shows about what women and not only women but men, children who are facing trafficking in different corners of the world are going through while we are sitting here in our homes, enjoying meals with our family. I greatly appreciate the author for writing such a great read. The book is written in a very simple and easy to read manner. This book has power to touch the hearts of people. I will recommend everyone to read it once. This is worth every minute spend reading it. This book is completely 5 stars for me. I am looking forward for more such reads by the author.
