The King got cursed that one of his offspring would get the Raven Spirit; as time moved on, he forgot about it until one of his three daughters later in life got it. They had always been warned not to use dark magic, but children never listened to their parents anyway. In attempts for peaceful coexistence, the king had to form an alliance with the Romans, and as collateral, the Roman leader had to leave his son. This was so that everyone holds their end of the bargain. However, Catrin started developing feelings for him.The story has a major plot twist that I did not see coming. The story's flow was so unexpected to me, and this aspect of unpredictability made it so interesting to me. The book is written in an old style, somewhat based on ancient times, though it did not quite feel like that. I love this feature; I feel it was so good and well achieved.I would recommend this book to anyone who's looking for a daily read or something to keep them company while travelling. Even a daily bedtime read.I really loved this read. I found the book quite interesting, especially because I thought I knew how the story would go, but I was so wrong.I was entertained the whole book, and I found the pace going fast but in a totally enjoyable way. The turn of events was always something I loved and kept me curious. I would definitely recommend reading this book.

Apollos Raven by Linnea Tanner is a historical fantasy book released in the year 2018, and the first book of The Curse of Clansmen and Kings series, the other book being Daggers Destiny. The book is published by Apollo Raven Publisher, LLC, in the United States. The cover art and cover layout of the book are designed by Priya Paulraj, the interior design by Nick Zelinger of NZ Graphics, the map illustration by D. N. Frost, edited by Jessica Knaus, and distributed by Bublish, Inc. You can find the book in softcover, hardcover, ebook, and audiobook formats. Linnea Tanner is a seasoned researcher of ancient, medieval history and mythology, and a renowned author who has received book awards for her writing style. She currently lives in Windsor. The authors website is www.linneatanner.com. The story occurs on the southeast coast of Britannia, 27 AD, and focuses on the Celtic Princess Catrin, who possesses ancient druidic magic centered on corvine foresight. Ravens symbolize a curse in her family, and yet she undergoes a ritual in front of both Celtics and Romans to make her an oracle for the Roman sun god Apollo. To quell further tension between the two kingdoms, hostages are exchanged. The ever-diplomatic Marcellus of Rome stays in the Celtic kingdom, and the two youths engage in a romantic affair, which creates a sequence of events. Catlin must now choose between obeisance to her family and clinging to her Roman lover. Amid hidden secrets and lost memories, she must make choices of sacrifice to save the ones closest to her heart. I love this book wholeheartedly because of its poignant and sublime narrative style. The authors writings are picturesque, emotionally intense, and vicarious. I also love the portrayal of the characters in this book. Their traits and development are incredible and timely. Catrins personality is particularly one of talent, bravery, perseverance, kindness, and sacrifice. Ever since her infantile ordeal with Marrock, she has become hardened and self-trained to hone her druidic magic for good. She is also kind-hearted because of her genuine interest in her family, as well as her sharing her hunting bounties with her people. She is courageous enough to face up against Agrona and willing to do what it takes to save the people she loves, including Marcellus and King Amren. I enjoyed the progress of the books narration throughout the chapters: the interesting affair between Princess Mor and Belinus, the secrets of Queen Rhiannon, the rage of Marrock, and the intentions of Agrona. I have no dislikes to offer, and neither did I encounter any grammatical errors or typographical mistakes. As a science fiction lover, I find this book entertaining, credible, and appealing, with action-packed scenes and an unexpected ending. For this reason, I give Apollos Raven a perfect 5-star rating. A perfect blend of magic, romance, and political intrigue, Apollos Raven creates a fantastic, picturesque world where adventurous readers can explore each character and scenery with awe and excitement. I recommend this book to readers of fantasy and science fiction, who love epic scenes, historical content, and tales of myths and legends. It is preferable for young adult readers because of its sexual content.
