Linnea Tanners Amulets Rapture is the third book in The Curse of Clansman and Kings series. The author offers a concise summary of the events from the preceding books, aiding readers in understanding the story's continuation. Catrin was captured by the Romans after she nearly lost her life to her half-brother, Marrock. Now she has been enslaved by Decimus, who disguises her as a boy. He renames her Vibius. Only Decimus and the Medicus know she is a woman in the entire camp. Catrin has become connected to her spiritual guide, a raven. She has found the wall of the Past, Present, and Future. She often visits Marcelluss life thread, despite knowing he has no memory of her because Druidess Rhan wiped his mind. Decimus intends to use her as an oracle to Apollo. Meanwhile, Marcellus has resumed his illicit affair with Elaina. When rumors of his trysts with the married woman reach his father, Lucius, he is ordered to end the affair. His father had arranged a marriage with Consul Friugis daughter. Elainas husband insists on being compensated for the child caused by Marcellus affair. Lucius sends Marcellus to become a soldier in the Roman Legion and his wages to be garnished. This is a book that shows the indomitable spirit of a warrior princess. Catrins ability to adapt her plans to return to Britannia keeps the plot unpredictable. She refuses to be considered a slave and often pushes the boundaries that her master gives her. Marcellus has a need to feel love, and he fails to find his affair with Elaina satisfactory. He doesnt believe the story his father uses for his lost memories. The character development is exceptional, and the alternating perceptions provide an insight into what motivates each person. Despite her dark persona, Rhan's maternal instincts towards her daughter are touching. I felt that Negasi could have become someone who could end Catrins love for Marcellus. Betrayal, trust, and survival are all appealing pieces of this interesting story. I recommend 'Amulets Rapture' to mature readers who appreciate suspenseful narratives intertwined with historical references to real events. The authors research for the book shows a blending of Celtic and RomanGreek mythology. The violence, sex, and death make this unsuitable for young children. The vivid details will make it easy for potential readers to envision the characters and the conditions they live in. I rate this book 5 stars. The series has become a personal favorite due to its engaging storyline and is likely to captivate the minds of young adult readers.
