From our reviewers
If you love adventure, this book is for you; it contains the complete adventure thrill and package, beasts, dragons, unique abilities, levels ups, and difficulty levels. This book reminds me of an anime I watched a long time ago, named Sword Art Online, but in this book, the author did an excellent job of bringing the characters to life. It starts with Noah, who lived his life as a nobody seeking relevance in any way; in reality, he is nothing but broke and invincible, but when he logs back into the virtual reality world, he is strong, versatile, and agile. While in the games, they wear a full-body haptic suit, making the experience more authentic. They can feel things and even the sensations they get while in the game, but all is not as it seems, as the effects on their physical body become too realistic. One might wonder why they don't just quit playing; Noah has sworn to get rich through these games as the reward they get in the game has the possibility of being used in reality. All this goes beyond a game as the gaming companies have a more extensive agenda, one that I cannot say will benefit the gaming industry and the economy as a whole. I liked so many things about this book, but the main ones are Roh's resilient spirit and his bond with Taro; I could feel their tight bond. I like how the author described the scenes; most of the fighting scenes were very easy to understand. The author made the book fun to read. What I did not like about the book was that most of the abilities mentioned throughout the book were hard to follow up with; the book was a bit rushed, and it would have been better if the pace had been slower. I rate this book 4 out of 5 stars, and I look forward to a sequel because it has so much potential. This book is suitable for readers of all ages.
by faith ukaegbuAge of the Behemoths: A GameLit & LitRPG Epic Fantasy Series (Book 1) by A. F. Gaine. The beginning of the book gave a sense of gaming and sci-fi in the opening development of the book, with each player introduced. The book carefully paces the progress with each level surpassed, the detailed listing of the tokens, and the points earned. The gaming elements and mechanics are well explained. It took me an extended time to truly understand what was happening throughout the book, but it’s exceptional to see a highly engaging, imaginative, and descriptive book. It balances well-crafted action with thrilling gaming combat. In the early pages of the book Darian, a multifaceted character is introduced as an adventurer who is well-grounded with the dangers in his immediate environment and offers training and guidance in the developing parts of the book. One has to strategically follow the adventure in the book because it gets complex with progression. The book is paced well, has narrative depth, and the dialogue is natural, reflecting the personalities and backgrounds of the characters. I rate this book highly at three out of five stars because many characters were introduced, making it difficult and overwhelming to keep track. In addition, I recommend this book to all new gamers and anyone looking to learn something new.
